Can not connect OPC DA Client with OpenPCS 7

desperado211 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have tried to establish communication between OPC DA Client and OpenPCS7 exactly like instructions from this link: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&objid=44444703&nodeid4=20806759&caller=view&switchLang;44444703;2.x=34&switchLang;44444703;2.y=4&lang=en&siteid=cseus&aktprim=4&objaction=csopen&extranet=standard&viewreg=WW I did everything I could but when I tried to connect to"PCS7.OPCDAServer.1" onES21 by Excel file "OPC-DA-HB.xls", I got message from Excel like this: "Error Description: ActiveX component can't create object". Even when I tried Matrikon OPC to connect to "PCS7.OPCDAServer.1", I couldn't succeed. Is there any missing steps in the instruction or is there any attention I should pay? ES21 info: Windows XP SP3, Excel 2003 Thanks

If it is a different system, can you install the Matrikon client on the Open PCS7 system to check if this working?

I could successfully connect OPC DA Client to OPCServer.WinCC.1 on my Engineering Laptop (considered as OS Server). But I couldn't connect OPC DA Client to PCS7.OPCDAServer1 (on the same PC Station ES21) Thanks

This one is responsible for the browsing in the OPC server. Sometimes this service is not started on the Open PCS7 system.
