Hello Sir,

I want to read data form a ComAp Controller using MODBUS TCP. I programmed S7-1200 according to manual. My MB_Client block giving error status 16#7005/6 which I found data sent and receive massage. But could not read data from the global data block. As sometimes error 16#8383 appeared and  done bit always remain False. I checked the Data_PTR  it is all right. I want help to read data in global data block.

check if your DB2 for recv data is without optimized access and long enough for your max requested amount of data, this can be better. I expect you have some exact prepared conditions to monitor outputs like DONE, ERROR - then save STATUS to some free memory. You can't check outputs visually, they are available for little time and you can simply miss them.

I did what you suggest but no result. My Data optimum access box is unchecked and for done bit triggering i use a block to see it's response. Should I do any other thing to read data. I did the the program in TIA portal V.13.

thnx for your info. I expect now you're poll data from real device MB Server right? Is that address what you're poll available. with your format of data type as you have defined? What is structure of your DB2? I recommend for self experiencing/learning omit your real device and connect to PC running some MB Server application, you can find that application here on other Modbus topics, also for simple test I recommend free Ananas (only Holding Register or Input Register tests). I'm sure you'll solve some communication prior connect to real device which can't be maybe quickly executed for first. In other case of real Server, what is that device, senzor, PLC?

Update: another hint can be define your Pointer notation for DB as with max. available data type count, f.ex. if your DB is array of Words (f.ex. 50 Words) you can write

P#DB2.DBX0.0 WORD 50

With this notation you tell to system you have max 50 Words reserved for received data.

Do anyone have a sample program of MODBUS TCP communication with a third party real device like  Multi-function meter/Controller, programmed in s7 1200.

And I thank Darius_I for his reply. But it seems I am stuck. ComAp InteliATS PWR is the device I am trying to read it's data. And Ananas communication is just new to me. Do you have any manual or video how to work with it.Your notation return the same result.

I hope there is solution.Please help me.

Yeah,We did overcome it. It was related to the port number of ComAp device which I was workig with.
