The transitions of data will be in one direction only (according hardware configuration). S7-300 PLC will "read the outpus" from 200S. In CPU 300 the data will be read by CP using using FC2 (RCV) and after look there how the CPU will "understand" received data.http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/18208090 The initial point is - download the corresponding hardware configurations in all CPUs. It would be much easier to establish two way communicationwith all the ET200Sand you do not have to use FC2 FC3 etc. Cheers Navnag

I believe you are correct that it will NOT be necessary to use the FC2 DP_RECV for this data.

JoeGrib Posts: 26 Rating: (1)	I have an update and it's not good news (for me!). The network is not as "up and running" as I previously thought. The system was shut off for maintenance and all the old issues returned once it was restarted. I've tried re-installing the programs, resetting the DP/DP Couplers and checked over the Outputs and Inputs and Datablocks. I have also tried to set up the 2nd and 3rd network (after the maintenance) but I'm getting the same faults. SF on the LED of the Et200s module. SF1 and SF2 LED on the DP/DP coupler and BF2 LED on the coupler. (Network 2 is the PLC-33 side of the coupler). In diagnostics for the DP/DP Coupler I'm also getting a message which states that the configured module does not match the actual. I've downloaded and followed all the instructions for the DP Coupler Release 2 download from the Siemens forum. I think all other relevant info is still up on the thread in previous posts and in the attachment files. Any suggestions? I'll take ANY wild guess at this point. (Not sure if I should start another thread for this question?)

JoeGrib Posts: 26 Rating: (1)	Ste39 – No cable has been moved that I know of. Thanks for the sympathy! Umencho – I have gone through the DP/DP Coupler Config. (ON/OFF, etc…) but haven’t tried resetting and turning OFF/ON all the CPUs, only downloading the program again. I’ll now attempt to turn Off the CPU as well and let you know how it goes. It takes a while for me to go through all the machines so I will be offline for an hour or two.

Check if Probfibus Bus Terminators are OK . Things cannot suddenly go so horribly wrong. There is a basic ( Somtimes ... stupid ) problem somewhere. Above all, Don't panic and have patience ... Navnag Yes, the Coupler is visible as in "View Accessible Nodes" I think that the problem was always there, but it's sending data so a number of us assumed it was ok.(The techs checking didn't notice any difference, because it's all new and weren't told what to look for until this scheduled maintenance). Thanks for the "Don't Panic", (Douglas Adams would be proud) and you're very right about patience!

It turns out that none of the PG's being used on the floor by the operators and techs had the updated .gse file for the DP/DP coupler. The incompatible version of the hardware config was downloaded by mistake. You guys all said that it was going to be something simple. You were all correct, but I doubted you. I hope I have leaned a valuable lesson! Thanks again.
