I used s7-1214c with firmware version 4.0.0  and TIA 13.

when i add some module like signal or communication module to CPU, i got this error; "error in lower level component". what should i do?

i just want to add SM1222 (16DQ-relay). the DIAG lit of signal module is blinking.

Hello,

go to the device view of the PLC and then go online to the PLC.
Now the DIAG Informations should be displayed in the DeviceView and you can click of the Component which have aError and show the detailed DIAG Information.

                    I have configured the S7-1214 CPU and SM-1222 digital output module hardware configuration

there is no error message in my Configuration..  I have attached the my hardware configuration image for ur reference..

                    Tell me your MFL number for Hardware configuration list ..

Have you download the Project with the modules to the PLC?

have you connect the signal module correctly to the PLC?

If the message appears "Error in lower level component" then you have detailed DIAGinformations in the device view online.

So please make a screenshot of the online view in detailview and a screenshot of the diag informations from the component which have the diag message "error in lower..:"

my problem solved. I've just download my project to cpu again! but I did it on yesterday!

I do not know why my problem solved but thank you for quick responses.

I have a similar problem, hope you can help me. In my case de DIAG led is in green, but when I enter to the DIAG Information in the online mode it just says UNKOWN. 

I'm using a 1215C DC/DC/RLY and the modules are a DI 16x24VDC, DI 8x24VDC and a DQ 8x24 Relay

To upload a running PLC project to PC (TIA Portal), you need:

1. Create a NEW PROJECT,

2. Then in PROJECT VIEW select:
Online->Upload device as new station (hardware and software)...

3. Select PLC and upload,

4. Go "online".

Hi, for solve this error go to Online menu and follow click in "Extended download to device".
