On the connector should I connect one cable from the PLC connector "Off" to the connector "On" on the DP coupler and cone cable from the PLC connector "OfF" to the connector "On" on the DP coupler ? The first end of the cable is connect in A1/B1 (input) of Prodibus connector. Put the resistor ON. Connect to the DP port of CPU. The other end connect in A1/B1 (input) of the other Profibus connector. Resistor to be in ON. Connect it to X1 DP port of DP/DP Coupler. On X2 DP port of DP/DP Coupler conncet the other Master CPU. fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/14/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello Gustaf_ you set the DIP Switches of the DP/DP couplerto suit your application (there would be no need for DIP Switches if one position of them would suit all use cases). Their meaning is well explained in chapter 4.2 of the DP/DP coupler manual, I suggest you study it and revert back here in case offurtherquestions. I hope this helps

I have added the DP/DP coupeler to my hardware, but when I downloaded the HW config I get Bus error and system fault on both the DP/DP coupler and the PLC. Do I need to do some config ? For both Profibus masters you are connecting? See how trhe manual proposed by Frtiz earlier shows you what steps are required (see attachment). If it is not done properly, the coupler will call a diagnostic error on both masters , as shown in the extract. Just to make sure, open your diagnostic buffer to see what messages are generating the error LEDs on your CPU. I have configured the slot but I do not send anything. My switches on CPU1 (DP address 10) 64 left 32 left 16 left 8 right 4 left 2 right 1 left ADDR left DIAleft PS left My switches on CPU2 (DP address 20) 64 left 32 left 16 right 8 left 4 right 2 left 1 left ADDR left DIAleft PS left

The DP/DP coupler acts as a pair of slaves, each slave connected and configured to one master. You must configure each side of the DP/DP coupler (slaves) so that data exchanges are consistent and complete. This is what steps 4 and 5 of the attachment refer to 9for one side); step no. 7 tells you to do the dsame for slave 2. Important: Data sentfrom master1 to slave1 (of the DP/DP coupler)is automatically transfered to slave 2 (by the electronics of the DP/DP coupler) and is read by master 2. So an output word written by mastrer 1 to slave 1 on the DP/DP coupler is seen as an input word by master 2. So let's say you want to write6 bytes of data from master 1 to master 2, and you expect to read 2 words of data from master 2 in master 1 using the DP/DP coupler. On master 1 configuration of slave 1 you must configure 6 bytes Output and 2 words Input. On master 2 configuration of slave 2 you mjust configure 2 words Output and 6 bytes Input. The configuration on slave 1 nd 2 must be exactly the same order and size of data but the type (input/output) must be reversed. Do I need to configure anything than PROFIBUS address and the slot ? My cable is going in on the input arrow and the swicth in possion on Thanks Gustaf

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/15/2025 Posts: 12408 Rating: (2717)	Hello Gustaf; Well, it looks like point 4 in the diagnostic buffer is pointing to a loss of synchronisation with a DP slave, which confirms the BF LEDs (pointing to a problem with some nodes on the bus. So we would be interested in looking at thid entry and others pointing oin the same direction. We would also need to see differnet screencaptures of your Profibus configuration, notably both sides of the DP/DP coupler. One thisng you could do also is to go Online with the CPu while the HWConfig edito is open. This will bring up a diagnostic view of all nodes, ith a red cross on slaves that are not functionnal. Right-clicking on these will open their diagnostic buffer for indvidual messages. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
