The PC677 had two nic cards on board. One had a TCPIP address of 169.254.11.23 witch was being used. The second unitwas set to DHCP or auto address. This was using the same beginning address of 169 as it auto addressed. Unfortunately this caused the system confusion upon start up. Simply hard code the second, unused nic card out of that range 170.254.XXX.XXX and it should work. Interestingly on another machine instead of DHCP the second nic card was hard coded but with the same starting octet and it too wouldn't function from a cold boot. After readdressing thesecond nic on his machine it functioned correctly. I believe if both nic cards are going to be used they still will need to have different starting octets. The subnet mask was inconsequential.
