sw and hw limit issue with pto position control

I want to control a axis with pto. My plc is s7-1200. I can control the axis without any problem. But,

when the axis has sowftware limit error;(I can not move the axis until reset the axis)
- disable the mc_power
-reset the axis
-again enable the mc power and I can move the axis

when the axis has hardware limit error; (I can not move the axis until reset the axis)
-axis should be enabled during hardware limit error
-reset the axis
-and I can move the axis

what is the diffrences? I guess it is not normal.
 

I cannot tell you what the behaviour is. I work without those for various reasons. But it is important to note the version of motion control you work with, as the behaviours did change. The following manual is the best information we have on this case: SIMATIC STEP 7 S7-1200 Motion Control V6.0 to V8.0 in the TIA Portal as of V17 

Note within the document that the software / hardware limit can be switched off. This is required (guessing) when homing is executed. Especially when automatic direction reversal is required.

What's the exact question you have, what's the issue you experience?
