WinCC OA 3.11 - S7-1500 connection problem

Is it possible to connect WinCC OA through the S7 driver to S7-1500 PLC ?

I can ping my plc but i can't see my plc tag in Para (datapoint - _original online)

As i read in manual WinCC OA uses the "other connection" resources to connect to Simatic S7.

In my PLC the number of maximum "other connection" = 0

What can i do ?

If the S7 driver cannot establish a connection to the PLC, but the PLC is in the network and can be reached via a PING command, perform the following steps (appears often in a redundant WinCC OA system):

1. Check the maximum number of allowed connections in the STEP7 environment (check also the number of reserved connections from the maximum number).
    

2. The S7 driver in WinCC OA does not use the connections for the "S7 basis communication". For example:
   
   A S7-314 has 12 connections as a maximum. Reserved are: 1 connection for PG communication, 1 connection for OP communication and 8 connections for "S7 basis communication". I.e. only 2 for "Other connection" remain.
    

3. If you need more connections for "Other connection", you have to reduce the 8 connections for basis communication. As a result the driver has more connection possibilities without fallback to PG or OP communication.

I´m not a WinCC OA Specialist but in WinCC (V7.x) there is a new Communication Channel in V7.2 and V7.3 for S71200 and S71500. The Normal Way over the S7 Protocol Suite won t work.

You can use also a Simatic Net OPC Server an use the OPC Channel in WinCC (i Think in WinCC OA there is also a OPC Client).

Check on S71500 also. You should not use optimized Blocks and in the Savety Settings of the PLC you shuld aktivate the PUT GET Kommunikatino for HMI.

For WinCC OA you can better use the forum at the ETM portal https://portal.etm.at.

PLC tags do not automatically appear in WinCC OA, you need to configure the PLC and add a periphery address to a DPE to get a value from a PLC.

In the S7 configuration you can choose what kind of connection to use (PG, OP or other).

For the S7-1x00 PLC you need to enable PUT/GET communication, use standard access for the communication block with WinCC OA and use only one connection with the PLC by setting a config entry.
