Hi,

As of TIA V18, new resources are available that make it possible to customize the operation of recipes, that is, to handle them without using the parameter set control directly.

One of these features are new system functions:

• CreateParameterSet
• SaveParameterSet
• LoadParameterSet
• DeleteParameterSet
• RenameParameterSet
• ReadParameterSet
• WriteParameterSet
• ReadParameterSetName
• RenameParameterSet

Tips:

• Part of these functions exchange data between intermediate variables, in general, with internal tags. These variables must come from a data structure similar to the PLC data type and must be declared in the Edit Tag property of the Parameter Set Type.

Other features are new Parameter control view properties: CurrentParameterSetTypeID and CurrentParameterSerID. With these parameters it is possible to monitor the actual parameter set / parameter set type selected in the control.

Tips:

• If you link these properties to tag, uncheck the “Read only” checkbox to allow external access.

Additionally you have new script functions to get the name from the Parameter Set ID / Parameter Set Type ID: GetParameterSetIDName / GetParmeterSetTypeName.

Tips:

• To link the script function outputs to HMI tags use “HMIRuntime.Tags.SysFct.CreateSetTagCommand(“tag name”)” as parameter.

• The name showed is the “Display name” parameter of the Parameter Set type (not the “name”)

I guess you are asking how to use the function "GetParameterSetIDName", right?. To be honest, I never used it but I found this application example script that I think you could use as guideline.

and refined something simple that works for me.

ParameterSetControl->Miscellaneus->CurrentParameterSetID->Change

'RecipeName' is WString

'ProcessingStatus'  is int

I do not need to check the ProcessingStatus asynchron, as I just load an empty String before. You can do, when OK its 4 and otherwise 12 - what I have seen.

Yes.

To display the current parameter set name in an I/O Field after parameter set download to PLC, I implemented a workaround using custom scripting and tags. Here’s how it works:
Disabled Default Download Button: I disabled the "Download Parameter Set to PLC" button in the Parameter Set Control to use a custom button for downloading.

Captured Current Parameter Set ID:

• Used the OnPropertyChanged event of the CurrentParameterSetID property (in the Miscellaneous section of the Parameter Set Control).
• Script writes the selected parameter set ID to a tag (Current Parameter Set).

Custom Button Script:
Created a button to download the parameter set to the PLC and save its name to a tag (ParamSetName) for display.

• Retrieves the parameter set name using GetParameterSetName and saves it to ParamSetName.

Displayed Name:
Linked an I/O Field on the target screen to the ParamSetName tag to display the parameter set name, even after the Parameter Set Control’s popup closes.

The downside I can see is if there are several users on diferent clients downloading diferent parameter sets to the PLC from the same parameter set type, there can be conflicts with the “current parameter set ID”. One user can change it while you are trying to change it also. But this can be a very rare scenario.

I use only one script for a custom load button.

UPDATE:

I'm not using script code for this task anymore. I've attached a printscreen from my button event functions that does exactly the same I was doing before, but more simplified (no script).

Also created a field to display the status, below the native field, associated with a text list with the different statuses.

The close button then clears the status id tag and the IDList tag.
