Pac4200: how to access all downstream devices?

Dear fellow PCS7 enthusiasts,

I came across your discussion as I have a similar problem.

I have a PAC4200 meter that uses a RS485 expansion module (slot 2) to connect to a number of circuit breakers. I can connect to the PAC4200 using PowerConfig over ethernet and go live on it, change he settings, etc. I can also connect to it with a Modbus TCP master simulator.

However, do you know the proper way of accessing all devices downstream from it?

Is there a way to see their registers through a Modbus master simulator connected to the main PAC meter?

For example, the IP address of the PAC4200 is 192.168.216.26:502. Also, our Modbus gateway port is 17003. However, how can we set up the PAC, so that an outside device can first connect to  192.168.216.26:502, and then connect to RS485 bus device 2 through gateway port 17003?

Hi Duris and thank you for the response. I know that some time has passed since I posted this question but I am still more or less at the same stage. I hope that this is a standard question the resolution of which will benefit everybody.

I am dealing an MCC cabinet where there is a PAC4200 power meter connected through a Modbus 485 line to a number of 3WL circuit breakers.

Each breaker is equipped with a COM16 module (3WL9111-1AT15-0AA0).

The PAC meter has a RS485 communication module installed on port 2 (7KM9300-0AM00-0AA0).

I am using PowerConfig version 3.24 to connect to the PAC4200. From PowerConfig, I can fully access both the PAC4200 and all the downstream devices. Each breaker has an already assigned Modbus address, ranging from 2 to 14. 

As I can connect to the 3WL breakers, I have set all of them to use the PAC4200 as a Modbus Gateway (see 3WL settings screenshot). Further, I have set the PAC4200 (from its local display) to be Modbus gateway as well.

As a next step, I am trying to use a Modbus master simulator to connect to both the PAC4200 and the downstream devices. Here is where things go wrong.

Using Modbus Poll, I can access the PAC4200 and read all its registers. However, all downstream devices are not accessible. Setting Modbus Poll to Mdobus RTU over TCP on port 17003 results in a time-out error. 

Do you know what the problem may be? I am attaching screenshots of the PAC4200 and one of the downstream devices communication settings.
