Impossible to download hardware configuration on microbox (SIMATIC IPC427C)

Adrien Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello, I created a hadware configuration in simatic in my personal PC, This hardware configuration corresponds to the Station configuration on my microbox. In it I have WinLCRTX in slot 2 (nothing in the IF) and an IE general in slot 3. The name of the Station Configuration and the PC based configuration are the same as requested. I am able to ping the microbox and even to make a remote desktop on it but it is impossible to transfer the hardware configuration. I get the error "Unable to establish conncetion to module WinLCRTX" or also "Online:Connection could not be established. The connection partner is not responding 33:16656" according to which module I try to transfer. Any help? Thanks, Adrien

I got this error message once and after a reboot everything works fine. what configuration setting do you have for the PG/PC interface? greeting bigfoot

Adrien Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hi Bigfoot, thanks for fast answer. yes I did but still the same. Now I put the IE inside the WinLCRTX and removed the IE general (so no more remote desktop.) So now my microbox should be as a classic CPU. But I got one more time the same issue. In fact, in this case I am not able to ping the address anymore.So now I have the WinLCRTX and inside in the IF1 I have an IE. This IE is linked on the port I was using for the RDesktop connection previously. So it means I am sure about the IP adress (So why I can not ping it anymore?). Unless there is an issue on the IP address once it is inside the WinLCRTX. For the PG/PC interface in my simatic on my personal computer I have TCP/IP -> Intel(R) ... Any other clue? Adrien

What you can do is: Configure your Station configuration like you had first and create a new STEP 7 Project. Maybe there is something wrong with the STEP 7 Project?! You can Copy and Paste all OBs and FCs but you should create a new STEP 7 Project and a new hardware configuration. if this does not work or if it works... Please let me know. greetings bigfoot

Adrien Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello Bigfoot, What I understood is if I put the IE external to WinLC I will not be able to download the configuration because this IE will be for windows but not for the soft CPU. I was told that if I want to be able to use the microbox as a soft CPU I have to put the IE general inside the WinLCRTx? What I said is right or not, could you let me know? Anyway I will try to create a new project in simatic on my personal computer and I let you know. Thanks a lot, Adrien

If you put the IE Generell into the WinLC RTX it is no longer available for Windows but you can still download and watch variables with the SIMATIC Manager. But you can not ping this Ethernet interface or create a remote desktop connection (because this interface is not available for Windows). greetings bigfoot

Adrien Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Ok thanks for explanation. But I do not get why I can not ping it because whith a normal PLC I can ping it, so it should be the same behaviour. So I created a new project in SIMATIC with the IE inside the WinLCRTX but the result is still the same. It can not establish the connection (but I am not surprise because if I can not ping it it means I can not see it so I can not transfer domething on...but a priori no. I think I miss something). I am using a router so I put it in the configuration of the IE, could it be a problem? I have version 5.5 of SIMATIC could it be a problem? Thanks for help, Adrien

But the interface is than only available for the WinLC RTX in there realtime environment and this is why you can not ping this address. I am not a specialist at this topic but this is what i think how it works. I never did this with a router before. I can't tell you if this might be the problem. Maybe somebody else can help you with this. (sorry) Have you tried it without an router before? greetings bigfoot

Adrien Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hey It works, we plugged (ethernet) locally a PC with SIMATIC on and then in SIMATIC we click on PLC -> Edit Ethernet node, Then browse. Then the card was displayed and we just have to write on it the IP address wished. So now I can ping the address I put and download the hardware configuration. It is as if we can not set the IP address from windows (I do not understand why but may be both parts Windows and WinLC are totally uncorrelated with no links inbetween). Finally it is like a normal PLC. Thanks a lot for help, Adrien
