Good morning dear friends, I am trying to communicate an hmi ktp900 with the abb dcs through a modbus master tcp / ip, since the hmi also supports this protocol, and seeing that with allen braledy it is possible through ethernet ip, then and trying to execute similar procedure but when selecting the modbus tcp protocol I can't put the IP of the modbus master, I see another controller called mitsubishi mc tcp / ip here if it gives me the option to put the IP of the plc, but I don't know link if I will achieve doing it this way. The question is that you can make this connection by modbus TCP / ip with the ci867 master, someone has done it, and if so, what would the procedure be or what do you need? Hello, generally only KTP900 can act as Client (Master) with Modbus TCP as is clear to me. I recommend check WinCC Help or check SW cfg how change parameters about connection for next functionality. For next infos (also supported protocols) check this link (check other order number in case different yours): KTP900 Basic Panel spec |

Hello Duris, sorry for the delay, what happens is that it is a project that I only see every 15 days for a time issue, well going back to the hmi effectively the hmi acts as a client but I also found that the ci867 can be configured as a slave, then in Theory could, I already made the ip congiurations in the hmi and variable declaration, this should be everything but I still cannot communicate, I do not have variable status, what I have found is that previously I was working with a hmi of abb panel800- pm836, this panel supports modbus tcp and modbus rtu at the same time, here the register addresses 40001, 40002, and more were configured. then the query would be the hmi has the option to see which are the modbus registers to be able to address the variables, then would you need one of these two devices to have modbus rtu to be able to address the registers?
