I have the same IOT but the pre-installed indOS did not work either, I managed to connect via UART and changed the boot mode, which started with the SD but then how do I install the operating system on the system and make it work without the SD, what would be the steps to follow?

if you have an Advanced, the Industrial OS is pre-installed in the eMMC memory of the IOT.

the first time you start it you have to connect with the Displayport to configure data such as IP and users, it is explained here:
