ganesh Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	We are working on Sinamics power module 6SL3310-1TE32-1AA0 ( 110KW, 210A). Distance between Drive and motor is about 700 mtr. Drive will be bypassed after start up ( about 1 min) by using any contactor. Is there any need of Output choke for such short duration ? Will there any effect on cable ?

Tambe Posts: 148 Rating: (11)	700 Meters sounds to be very long distance. I think the max. possible distance with Filters are about 450 meters please cross check it. And the filters are required to reduce the capacitance effect of motor cabel so it does not depend on the duration of use. Hence whatever time you use drive you have to have a o/p choke.

At least to me it sounds like a huge fan / some material handling equipment which is quite heavy or some conveyor belt 700m seems to be too long for a drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you looked at the option of using SIKOSTART Softstarters 3RW34 series.

By the way for the type of module you have mentioned the maximum length with unshielded cable is 450m and with shielded cable is 300m. You please check once again the soft starter of series 3RW44 which is meant for high feature applications. For the rating what you require 3RW44 43 which is 110kW at 400V or you take the next size for 132kW whose number is 3RW44 44. These units weigh aound 11,5 kgs.

mumbles Posts: 160 Rating: (16)	Hi, Just to clarify you can extend the cable run ot the motor cable by having 2 motor reactors connected in series. For example when unshielded motor cabling is used you can have a maximum cable lenght of 787m when using two reactors. To check what is best for your installation it is best to speak to your local Siemens rep.
