my project was running long time without any problems ,until last week,i can open any project .

when i open winccexplorer i have the error message "the network path was not found" (as attached )

i press ok button, i have the second error message " <project name>.mcp file could not be loaded" !!!

i did re install all, same problem !!!!!

its a wincc v7.0 sp1 and windows server 2003

I deleted all files that have .dcf and .dc , i have always the same error message. 

i tried to create a new project, not possible!!

it has been many days that i m trying to solve the problem and nothing is working!!

Hello FTems,

if you can not create a new project too, the problem is
in your installation, and not in the project.

If you have installed WinCC before, have you deinstalled
WinCC and SQL-Server and installed all new.
Or have you only installed WinCC new ?

only new wincc, and without deinstall, just with "repair" option .

should i deinstall all ? is there a special tool to do it properly or i should do it one by one ?

In my WinCC V7.3 I did have the same problem "The network path not found", and can not open any project I have.

I have tried to reboot PC, to delete *.dc files, to rename project folder for shorter name, to start many times "reset_wincc.vbs", to change project settings on the another PC, with no effect.

Then I have tried to disable the network card (in Network Settings of Windows 7), and ... Bingo! Project is loaded! 

But there was strange thing - in the "system parameters" in the Tag Manager, there was configured access path "TS adapter" instead "S7 online".

Then I have enabled back the network card, then changed access path to "S7 online", and start project runtime, its working OK.

I also had the same problem,  But each time my PC or WinCC is restarted, I am back to the Same Problem again,  so i have disable all my network cards, Start WinCC, and enable them and then activate runtime. is there a permanent solution to this problem ? 

 Yes it's working . Just disable lan port and open wincc.

In my case, I had the same problem!

My software runs in a VMware Machine V15

It was caused by VMware Network configuration.

In VMware, Menu, "File - Viertual Network Editor", I chaged to "Restore Defaults" and the problem was fixed

I think I have found a solution, no need to disconnect network cards. All you need to do is edit the hosts file (c:\windows\system32\driver\etc \) the following text:

127.0.0.1 %YOUR_PC_NETBIOSName%

%YOUR_PC_NETBIOSName% - this can be viewed in the computer properties.

For example:

127.0.0.1 MyWinCCServer
