Got FLIR AX 8 thermal camera and trying to read registers but I have came a cross issue which i cant figured out myself  referring with this question to you experts.

Status on mb_client is alternating between 16#7005 and 16#7006 to eventually jump to a number 16#8383 as a result non of twenty registers is read .

Mb_Mode =0

MB_Data_Adress = 401017 (first address of a register )

MB_Data_Lenght = 20         (length of a  20 Words)

for the rest of parameters I've attached picture please take a look .

does it mean that I have my addressing incorrect or block is incorrectly assigned . 

I've attached a snap on of a FLIR AX8 manual and register i'd like to read if you could please take a look if i making mistake in addressing of a MB_Client or DB_values attached to the block .

first picture is from FLIR manual and it represents a register from 401017-401037 length 20 Words 

second picture is my OB1 with a MB client and DB values.

please see the attached picture , I've used Mod bus_Poll to find out is there any communication between camera and PC and receiving values will be possible  . I can read all values at Mod bus_Poll same values in MB_client block results in a status 8383 

Error reading or writing data or access outside the address area of MB_DATA_PTR.

The error can occur locally as well as with the instruction "MB_SERVER.

camera documentation is providing a conversion formula for ID and starting register 

but if i convert 1023 include attribute and instance the result will be 80141 and will result in a fault 

8189

Invalid addressing of data at the MB_DATA_ADDR parameter.

I seems that there is something wrong with DATA_PTR or DATA_ADDR parameter. I think you should check that address indicated exists on server side.

The DB that store the read data should have no optimized access and also you should check that the data type of the tags inside DB and its lenght is the same as the read data.

Thank you for the reply , the DB is an optimized block my server is my remote device not a PLC but a thermal camera according to the manufacturer of the device providing slave ID =1 and start register 401017 should be enough . Device is providing feedback data in a 125 registers but i can transfer no more than 20 at the same time .

Is there any correlation between MB_DATA_LEN and a Modbus function ?

eg. 16 or 32
