Hello. We used 6ES7-417-4HT14-0AB0 CPUs in the control section. I wanted to know if these CPUs are out of production or are still being produced. If there is no production, thank you for introducing an alternative. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello Shapour; The CPU 417-4H you are using now has a firmware revision v4.5. Siemens has upgraded the CPUs of the S7-400H to a new version, v6.0. This is explained in the following Product Note, and displayed in the screenshot below. Delivery Release for S7-400H V6 Including PROFINET Support https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/59903098 "The new CPUs are largely compatible with the previous H-CPUs: Applications created for the previous CPUs can also be used for the new CPUs. In the case of a spare part replacement both CPUs of the H system including their sync modules must be replaced. If the upgrade is from V4 or V4.5 to V6, the Sync cables can be re-used. Mixing the new CPUs with the previous CPUs in one S7-400H system is not permitted. Existing plant configurations with V4.x can be expanded with new redundancy systems with new V6 systems." The new system manual for v6.0 S7-400H CPUs can be found here (worth reading, the new CPUs have Profinet support and other new functionalities that could be interesting in your project). https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/82478488 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello AmazingAhmd; If you are discussing the issue of replacing a S7-400H v4,5 with a S7-417-5H v6.0, you would need a pair of 6ES7960-1AA04-5KA0 synch cables, 10 m. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109798413/134115368715 The older v4.5 CPUs required 6ES7960-1AA04-1AA0 synch cables. On the other hand the screenshot below provides an alternative, building your own synch cables. The component list is provided. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Ahmed, Yes, it is possible. Please check the table in below FAQ: S7-400 sync modules and fiber-optic sync cables |
