Hi,

We have an S7400 PLC and we need to generate some Analog output in addition to the existing setup. PLC is having CP cards and in built profibus port. I am thinking of an ET200SP with expansion modules and connect via profinet and use GET/PUT function blocks. Is there a better solution? as S7400 is a redundant system

When using ET200 series there is no need to use communication blocks for exchanging data between PLC and ET200 unit. the data shall be transmitted simply by addressing I/Os.

If you have Profibus port, you can also use ET200M series. Take a look at this manual.
