I hereby present my question: I have an S7-400H system with two CPU 417-4H's with order numbers 6ES7 417-4HT14-0AB0 and firmware versions 4.5, which are working in a redundant mode. REDF and INTF LED's are not lit, i have errors only on BUS2F and EXTF because of faulty/missing hardware components on periphery stations.

What i am trying to do is to upload a new changed hardware configuration in RUN mode to the H-station which goes fine up until the switchover from the master CPU with and old configuration to the Standby CPU with the modified configuration after i have to press "Next" even in the "Automatic continue" mode with "switchover" box ticked. I get the error "Switching to the CPU with modified HW Config is not possible. Downloading to H station will be canceled." message with an error code Download (13:5037). I have tried uploading to the master and the standby and both times the switchover is not possible.

I have searched the internet, this forum and the manuals for H-system but can't find the error code anywhere or the way to solve this problem. Where do i begin? I have attached the screenshot.

If it's important, when i switch from offline to online in HW Config, i get the message "System data not current" on both CPU's.

There are two questions in my mind:

1. Are changes in Hardware Configuration permissible in RUN mode?
   
   
2. Is the Master --> Standby switchover possible with front switches on the CPUs  manually?

1. What exactly do you mean by that? If you mean "Download the hardware configuration in RUN mode" option then yes. But with this option, this post is the exact situation i am having.

2. I haven't tried that, because i cannot stop the process for it is critical. But the switchover manually is possible from step 7, when you put the standby controller on stop and choose the option to switch to it from the "HW Config-> Online mode", Right click on the CPU in the rack and choose "Operating mode" and from there put the CPU or the whole H System to a STOP.

Based on the error message you are receiving, it seems that the switching to the CPU with modified HW Config is not possible. This could be due to a version mismatch between the hardware configuration and firmware version running on the two CPUs.

To begin troubleshooting this issue, I would recommend checking the firmware versions of both CPUs and making sure they are identical. If they are different, you will need to update the firmware on one of the CPUs to match the other.

Additionally, make sure that all necessary hardware components are present and functioning properly in the periphery stations. The errors on BUS2F and EXTF may also be contributing to the issue.

 

 Yes, they are identical. However, the Firmware version in both of them is 4.5.5 and the Boot loader version is 4.5.1. I am attaching the screenshot maybe it will tell you something more.

Regarding that, i cannot do that iether, because some components need to be replaced and some need maintenance and even more so, some are missing irl while present in the project. I cannot do that because the process is critical and i cannot stop the plant, which people have been trying to get a permission to stop for years.

Are there any updates? I have a similar issue, but this time with the CPU410-5H controller. It’s a brand new controller, and the problem is recurring. About a year ago, I had this issue and eventually had to load with the CPU stopped. Since then, I was able to make changes HW in RUN without stopping the CPU. Each time I made changes in RUN, some modules on the Profibus were missing—sometimes more, sometimes fewer—and it wasn't an issue. Now, the only difference is that fewer devices are inactive on Profibus DP—about 3 or 4 out of 70—and I can no longer load in RUN. Why? Nothing has changed compared to a month ago.

Does anyone have any advice or useful documentation?
