I guess you have selected the right Log in "Alarm Classes" 

(So you have selected that the Alarm Classes are Logged in a Log)

It's about WinCC flexible, but in TIA Portal you do the same settings.

Its not that difficult just create a log in the historical data:

Check Path and Size of the Log (check in systemlimits what your HMI can handle)

Then set the log in alarm classes:

and then for accessing from RT use the setting you have shown in your first screenshot

If you do not want to use a log or you need only a few historical alarms then you can use the build in alarm buffer. Here all alarms are stored automatically without needing a log. But its not that big and you will see only a short time backwards
