Is there a way to write in the input range?

PLCforEver Posts: 99 Rating: (3)	Hello there. I would like to know if i can modify the value of say X1...X32 at the beginning of my program to test my PLC program? Impossible to put X range addresses in coil output, MWIR...! I do not have the IO cards in the test rack but I have a slave dp card that I have configured to modify V memory registersfrom an other PLC. Best regards

If you have no correspondingI/O cards you should be able to write to the X1-X32 addresses from a chart in Tisoft or a Data window in 505 Worskhop (basically the same) If you have physical I/O with address X1-X32 you should still be able to modify the I/O by doing a force in the chart or Data Window.

See attached pdf file. This software will allow you to build scenario's for the state of your I/O and variables, save them and repeat them as many times as you want. Very usefull for FAT, testing large sequences, projects subject to FDA validation etc.. Other advantage: your simulation is separated from your PLC program. No need to modify your program when you're done simulating and want to loadthe programin the real PLC. Attachment sim505[1].pdf (875 Downloads)

I think the MIRFT (Move Image Register from Table) instruction will do the job, specifying N=2 words (32 bits to be moved) and target being X1, the register specified inthre table specs(V100/V101, for example) containing the value32768 ( all 1s). This would set 32 bits from X1 to X32. Check it out in the 505 program reference manual, this is from memory. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

autom8er Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	In the 505 PLC the I/O data table shares the same area. You can programmatically write to an input by writing to the same output, as long as the I/O card is not installed due to the I/O update portion of the scan. We used to write simulations by writing to y1..y32, which will turn on/off X1.. X32. All memory, discrete and word, inputs can be written to by writing to the same I/O numbered output. -Autom8er
