Protool to Excel conversion.

kid237 Posts: 158 Rating: (3)	Hi, I am trying to transfer data from my portool program to excel. My actual objective was to transfer the data from protool to WONDERWARE V5.6b, but unfortunately it is way to hard for me. So i decided to transfer it to excel instead. And is it possible to use DINAMIC DATA EXCHANGE (DDE)? So is there any guidelines or procedures for me to follow? Regards...

Aranel Calafalas Posts: 220 Rating: (14)	.txt or .csv files can build without any application, because the operating system does support them. In case of xls-files i think that the OS will not do so without an application which supports this file-type. Runtime does not have the information how to create such a file (meaning the headerinformation) this can only do the application which supports this type. its the same in the most applications you can't create a ile from a type, if you not have an application which can create or handle this type.
