V90 MC_POWER error 16#800c 16#0001

Hi,

I have a machine with an S7-1200 and 3 V90 drives.

Sometimes when I turn the power on, and put enable to the drives the MC_POWER instruction gives the following error:

Error ID16#800C

Error Info 16#001

The online help mentions these codes, but not the possible causes.

The only way to recover is to power off the machine again, and then power on.

Any idea of what it could be?

I recommend pausing after powering up V90's some amount of time before enabling the drive(s).

In your application(s), you need to find the worst case time where no faults occur and add perhaps 2 to 5 seconds to avoid faults.

Or, just keep MC_POWER'ing, detecting fault, reset / ack faults, and MC_POWER again until no faults occur.

The delay part is not perfect, but in my experience, it is rather reliable and easy to explain to customers.

Hopefully the s7-1200 needs to be running before MAINS power is applied to a VFD like the V90, or the s7-1200 needs to be running before the safety integration (STO) function can be reset to the V90.  If no Safety Integration is used, then certainly a safety contactor (or preferably 2 safety contactors in series) is(are) used to prevent unintended motion.

Thanks for the quick answer, I believe the S7-1200 takes a longer time to boot than the drives, but I will check it anyway.

 MC_Power has requirements that have to be fulfilled in order to use it and sucessfully activate the TO.

Just plain waiting will for sure not really be a solution. Another machine, another firmware, another PLC or drive, and you get a whole new timing and will run into the issue again, probably just as you forgot about what this was about
