I had configuration in one of our clients: s7-1200 controls Sinamics S110 CPU305 PN. The control is based no telegrams 111 and 390 and SINA_POS. The machine is really simple: conveyor which speed need to be adjusted. In the software I found that the speed adjustment is achieved by velocity overwrite which I found strange, why don’t they just used SINA_SPEED instead? The client complain that has problems with encoder – after some time they need to reference the drive, which doesn’t make sense because the conveyor is spinning infinitely.

I what to ask if I used only jog for movement and still overwrite the velocity is the encoder data still will be used. I try to sold the problem with minimum about of software intervention.
