I’m encountering a problem installing TeleControl V7.5 Upd1 on WinCC V8.1 Upd2. According to the release notes, this Update1 is supposed to be compatible with WinCC V8.1 Upd2.

However, during installation I get the following error:
“Minimum compatible version of SIMATIC WinCC TeleControl 7.5.0.0 should be present on the target machine.”

I do not have TeleControl base version 7.5.0.0 installed; I only have WinCC V8.1 Upd2.

My understanding is that TeleControl V7.5 Update1 should work on top of WinCC V8.1 Upd2 without needing the base TeleControl 7.5.0.0 separately installed. But installer insists the base version is missing.

Could someone  please clarify:

1. Is the base TeleControl 7.5.0.0 truly required before installing Update1, even when the release notes claim compatibility?
2. If yes, how do I legally obtain the base version (installer + license) suitable for WinCC V8.1 Upd2?
3. If no, is there a known workaround or special installer version of Update1 that includes the base portion?
