Accesing Cp443-1 Advanced using Industrial ethernet

mcidor Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	hi, I'm trying to connect to a S7400 that has a CP443-1 but I don't have success. When I look for Stations the CP in my computer doesn´t appear. I've tried all, MAC, IP...but nothing! I'm using S7 v5.3 + SP3. With other PGs it is possible for me to connect to the CP. Any idea? thanks

The first thing is know how many Ethernet cards you have in your PC. If you have more than one, some cares are necessary. Second thing, is know if your Ethernet card (on PC) works good. Third, is to know with network do you have: if have other stations (double addresses, connections, etc). Than, I recommend check the address: if there is no “repeated address” in your network (mac and IP) and especially if all TCP address are in a same subnet.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello mcidor, about your question I would try to figure the following two things out first: Is the link LED lit, if the link LED is not lit it shows that the cable connection is wrong. Maybe you need a crossover cable than. Is the link LED lit try to PING the CP with its IP Address form console To do this just enter: ping 192.168.0.100 The IP Address is just an example, you have to enter the IP of the CP instead. [:P] The PST-Tool is to find on the Siemens Portal: Primary Setup Tool (PST) Version V3.1 Adress Setting of SIMATIC NET Industrial Ethernet Products - no functional change opposite version 3.1. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19440762 Please consider you have first off all have to install the "DLC-Protocol", see the description in the link mentioned here before. DLC Protocol (Windows XPProfessional) The DLC protocol must be installed separately for Windows XP, because it is not included in the scope of supply of the operating system. The necessary files are located in the sub-directory "DLC Protocol" in the PST installation directory. Please proceed as follows: -First start with the Windows command Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -Open the icon "Network connections"; -From the list of network cards select the one for which the DLC protocol is to be installed; -Open "Features" with the righthand mouse button; -Press the "Installation" button and select "Protocol"; -Press the "Add to" button and select "Data Carrier"; -Enter the path for the sub-directory "DLC Protocol" in your Primary Setup Tool installation folder and click "OK"; -Confirm the selection of the DLC protocol with OK; If this works you have to choose your actual IE-Interface and then "Browse..", if there is a Siemens CP then this will be shown, if the IP-Address or subnetmask is not corresponding with your PC then the MAC-Address and the IP-Address will be shown. You can change also with the PST-Tool. [;)] If that is not working then please consider to check with another cable and/or PC. [:(] After that (if it works) in STEP7 it is also possible to check with the built-in Tool. Start the "Hardware Config" and choose the dropdown menue "PLC", then choose 'Ethernet' --> 'Edit Ethernet Node' --> "Browse...", which things to choose further will be speaking for it self and when not then experiment what. Also here the port have to be choosen on the "Ethernet Interface TCP/IP" [8)]
