Ziemens Silver Member Joined: 3/2/2007 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 946 Rating: (5)	Dear Sirs, kindly, a friend told me that Siemens have a special software (he thinks its name is “instructor”?) for troubleshooting machine stoppage and other problems, which is installed with the automation system. It allows the operator to quickly check for any trouble in the operation (stoppage, emergencies, …) of his machine. Does anyone know about this? Thank you.

mumbles Posts: 160 Rating: (16)	Hi Ziemens, Never heard of or seen a product called "instructor". One product that I believe would be of benefit to you would be PDiag. The other solution would be to also use Report System Error. Either solution would require an Operator Panel or Scada system. Both solutions do also require some engineering as well.

Ziemens Silver Member Joined: 3/2/2007 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 946 Rating: (5)	Hy Sir, I think the “PDiag” suits more our case because the purpose of the diagnostics is to evaluate process faults occurring outside the automation system (example: web break, end roll, emergency stop button, …). We have an mp277 connected via profibus to the cpu414-2dp, will this work with the S7-PDIAG ? Also, do you have a sample program for this application ? Thank for your help.
