I am trying to configure two analogue input modules as redundant I/O's. How does it work with the process image partition. Must I use the FB450 "RED_IN" block? If yes, where must I put this block. Hello bosspeleo, You should enlarge your process image to cover the I/Os you have. Go to CPU properties in hardware configuration and then go to Cycle/Clock memory tab and change the process image size. You can read more about process image partitions in Use of Process Image Partitions in Organization Blocks what is diffrence between PIP and OB1 PI ? Simply, when you assign an inputmodule to certain PIP which is assigned to a cyclic interrupt (OB3x) the inputs of this module will be updated cyclically with the assigned OB 3x. Yes you must. If you don't have process image partitions you should invoke it in OB1 before you start using I/Os in your code. You should check chapter 10.5 in SIMATIC Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H. You should also click F1 on each of the blocks under RED_IO library and read the help carefully. When you use redundant I/Os, you are totally dealing with process image addressing not with peripheral addressing. This means you can't use PIW258 but you should use IW258 instead.
