Connecting a TTL encoder to a CPU 224XP

Toxic Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	While connecting a TTL encoder with 5 V supply I cannot get any reaction at the inputs I0.3, I0.4, I0.5. Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi Toxic, Only a S7-200 PLC224XP supports 5V inputs and outputs. All the other PLC's has 24V inputs. I hope this helps. Reagrds Helmut

Toxic Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I know this and I'm connecting an encoder to 224XP. But I can not recognize any pulses at inputs. I connected 1M on the CPU with -5V from the power supply and outputs of the encoder with I0.3, I0.4 and I0.5 respectively. Plus power supply to the encoder. But still no signal on inputs. Probabely I'm doing something wrong?

Toxic Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I am trying to connect an angle shaft encoder with TTL logic to a CPU 224XP. Unfortunately, there are no signals on inputs. I connect A phase to I0.3, B phase to I0.4 and R (reset) to I0.5. Then I provide 5 V DC power supply to the encoder and connect 0V to an input 1M on the CPU. Then I start a HSC wisard in Microwin, run the program, but the PV is not changing.
