I'm not saying it is THE way, but just offering the possibility would be - i think - a good improvement. Just for the sake of discussion, AB Controllogix can be configured to swap IP addresses automatically in case of a switchover and believe it or not, the switchover itself is almost seamless. And I do not think it is only my application. Just think about connecting an HMI to an S7-400H system: the automatic IP swap would make effortless connecting an HMI to the Industrial Ethernet together with the CPs. Have you ever read the OFFICIAL Siemens solution? Here you are the link (it is for ProTool, there is another for WinCC Flexible but I can't find it now): https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?query=hmi+400h+flexible&func=cslib.cssearch&content=adsearch%2Fadsearch.aspx%3Ftab%3D2&lang=en&siteid=csius&objaction=cssearch&searchinprim=_searchinprim_&nodeid=99&x=16&y=8&cssearchengine=NEW Please check option 3. Connecting operator panels redundantly.. Actually, we are forced into option 4, when a simple ethernet switch would be enough.. Regards |
