Hello everybody,

I have encountered a small problem in TIA portal with my HSC's. We've used 2 linear encoders that we are going to push and pull, we expected that it would count up when pulled and count down when pushed, this was the case with the first encoder and it worked perfectly the second one however didn't do what we expected it should be doing, the main issue is that the second encoder doesn't choose the right direction f.e. it would count from 0 to 2850 when I pulled it (I have instructed that it should Always count up initially through PLC -> HSC 1 and 2) but when I push it back instead of counting back down to zero it actually counts back up again, the third time it would count up when pulled and count down when pushed like I asked but the 5th time it would count when i push and pull, it doesn't stay consistent when it comes to direction, the pulses however are Always consistent. we switched the encoder from their place and the first encoder still does what I ask while the second one doesn't, we thought that there was someting wrong with the encoder but we used 3 others and they all gave the same problem, does anyone know what the problem can be. the encoders we tested worked perfectly except for the direction in which it counted (one of the encoders was brand new)

I also use a PLC 1214C DC/DC/RLY

Hello Volkan,

Do you use HSC1 and HSC2?

See page 466, which inputs are used. 

Did you test to use two High speed counters, that do not use the same input addresses?
