Program Upload in Redundant System.

The system consists of a two S7-400 CPU (CPU A and CPU B). CPU A is a master and CPU B is a backup. The CPUs communicate with each other via an optolink. The idea behind two CPUs is that if the CPU A goes into a stop then the CPU B should take over and continue without stopping in the operating site. All program blocks are located in the CPU A. I wonder how to upload the program. Do I have to upload the program on both CPUs or it is enough to upload only in CPU A? In Siemens system program only stays in the Master/Primary CPU & imaging of that gets constantly updated in Slave/Secondary one. Now if you want to upload backup, just connect your PG with the Master CPU & choose the type of interface in PG/PC section. Then just select the upload option in the PLC section of Simatic manager. Then just select the Rack no & Slot no in the options & go with best of luck. Regards OmKris
