ahmedmae94 Posts: 103 Rating: (11)	How are you all I have redundant system S7-400H with redundant cpu (6ES74174HL040AB0) but I will use WAGO I/Os instead of SIEMENS I/Os, I will use gateway (WAGO) instead ofCP (SIEMENS) I will use profibus but I don't know the best configuration for this system I propose configuration for this system, but I'm not quite sure from this configuration please take alook at the configuration in the attachment and inform me if this configuration true or false best regards Attachment CPU With WAGO.zip (386 Downloads)

Hello ahmed;
To maintain redundancy of the Profibus-DP masters on single-line slaves, Siemens recommends the use of the Y-link.

The Y-link will maintain the connection between the masters and the slaves even in case of switch-over, which is the hardest thing to do in such a system without losuing your data integrity.
One limitation is that as the Y-link is considered an individual slave (all the nodes behind it are hidden from the masters) it is limited to 244 bytes IN/244 bytes OUT (all the I/O points of the 31slaves allowedbehind it must not exceed that limit).

Is it usefull to built up a H-System with this I/O ? The chance that the I/O is falling out might be higher then that one CPU falls out..... Consider the Y-Link together with the mentioned I/O)
