Hello Enn, the S7 200 CPUs do not have batteries inside but a big capacitor. I guess you have this optional module? 6ES72918BA200XA0 - Product Details - Industry Mall - Siemens USA |

Hello ennatwa; The followinhg FAQ shows you how to validate that the battery cartridge is still functionnal on your S7-200: Since its lifetime is evaluated at about 10 years, it looks like it would be good for you to evaluate it. Test of the battery module S7-200: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/17490344 Notice that for the test it is required for you to unplug the battery module from the CP in order to take the validation measurements (measuring a minimum of 2.2 V through a 100 kOhm resistance between pins 2 and 6 of the module). This suggests that replacing it with a new one would come down to removing the spent module while the CPU remains powered (so that you do not lose data) and plugging in a new one, once it has been delivered of course. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
