Hello S_R; You describe your Profibus network in detail, and you tell us how error bits are programmed for a general alarm on the network. But you do no tell us what you feel is your problem, that would cause you to change the cables and implement other measures.. Are you trying to identify a node that has failed on the network? You can always open the Diagnostic Buffer of your CPU (from the programming software) and see if any call to OB 86 is present in the logged messages. OB 86 is a diagnostic OB that is called by the CPU's OS when it detects a Profibus or Profinet fault, and among other information it provides the node number of the faulty station. There are ways to provide this information to the user through the program, if you tell us what software (Step 7 v5.x or Step 7 TIA Portal v1x) you are using. If this is not what you are looking for, please describe your troubles with a lot more details. Hope this ehlps, Daniel Chartiwer |
