Analog input ET 200PRO

Hi all,

I am using the PLC ET 200PRO (IM 154-8 PN/DP) with TIA Portal V15.1 and I am trying to read a value at the analog input but unfortunately this doesn't work. 

My values range from 0.8 V to 3.5 V and I used the functions NORM and SCALE (I don't have NORM_X and SCALE_X). I measured at the input and the voltage is there, but when I go online, I don't see any values at the input. Then I don't know if I parameterized the inputs wrong or if it's a hardware problem. For the connector I only connected the pins U+ and U-, which should be enough.

Where do you read values online, from which Tag. Tag9 is Dint declared on your pic. If you are measuring voltage than hardware is ok. It is on German on your pics, but just make sure channel is active and well configured signal data type. What are you reading, Tag2 or Tag9? I haven't used Et200pro but, always AI data type I kept to be 2 bytes, INT

Select your module in hardware configuration, go to properties, carefully read all options, it is easy to make set up which fits your needs.

To every channel declare signal name for example :

MyAIinput1 : INT - >%IW300

MyAIinput2 :INT - >%IW302.... 

To check AI yust go to watch table and check MyAIinput1 or MyAIinput2... You don't need any Norm or scale function to check. So:

• Enable channel and configure electrical type
• Assign to the channel Address
• Assign channel to the Tag
• Red value from the Tag, in a case of troubleshooting, take a look inside online and diagnostic, diagnostic buffer

I used both tags to test if it was not a hardware problem.  Tag_2 is of integer type and so I used it in SCALE function, which only accepts INT type, Tag_9 used to test another AI input in NORM function, which only accepts real type.  What I find strange is exactly that, I used the input type INT checked the input value anyway as you said and still can't read the value.  And the system has no errors.  From the system info, everything is ok. 

 What's the value that you actually read, and are you able to change value of your voltage as well

I always read the 0 V. And yes, I was changing the value of my input voltage, I ranged from 0 to 10 V and still only continued to show 0.

0V hmm... What is the value inside your Tag Tag_2.

If you configured AI +/- 5V than 0V means 13824,

In a case you configured module AI 0...10 it means 0V means 0 for Tag value. In either case connect minus from AI card to the sensor. So Pin No. 3 (Encoder supply ground) connect to negative potential of your Sensor. Did you try to change channel? Since you are mentioning only Volts, I'm not sure is it problem in AI reading or in scaling function?

Ok you have always 0Volts, but what is it the value inside your Tag_2 tag? Usually it goes from 0-27648

Hi, I put 3.2 V in the analog input %IW304 that i called Tag_3 however when i go online and visualize what is in the input always appears 0V. In the image below you can see this.
