Hello Registration;

You receive this message because you are trying to link your CPU to a Profinet IO Device on an uploaded project. The GSDML files are not installed on the CPU, but on the programming PC, so they cannot be uploaded from the CPU project.

The answer is that you must go to the Lenze website, locate that specific GSDML file, download it to your computer and install in in your Step 7 software.

The error message should disappear.once the program is compiled and downloaded to the CPU.

This note can be found on the webppage for the "GSDML device description files for Lenze Profinet IO devices" (where you can download a zip file with all Lenze GSDML files).

8400 Motec Note:
The GSDML file 'GSDML-V2.2-Lenze-8440PN200-20110713.xml' can be used with 8400 Motec Profinet firmware version 02.02 onwards.

Hello Registation;

I am somewhat confused when you speak about xml files and versions, the link I provided gives you an archived zip file for download, GSDML_v3_9.zip. click on it (inside Winzip), open the directory"2_Inverter Drive", then select "8400", then "E84DGFCR_Motec" to find the GSDML file ("previous versions") for your drive.

I do note that the version of the GSDML file you can extract from the archive is v2.3, not v2.2. Try to install it and use it to insert your drive in your Step 7 application. There is every reason it should work.

If you get an error message, you should contact Lenze support and ask for the v2.2 GSDML file.
