Specifically the commissioning tool that is based on HMI Advanced? If yes, what did you have to do to get it to work? Thanks in advance.

By running both the installers and the programs in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, I have been able to install and run Startup Tool 7.7 & Sinucom NC 7.7 on Windows 10 Pro version 1909.

By running both the installers and the programs in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, I have been able to install and run Startup Tool 7.7 & Sinucom NC 7.7 on Windows 10 Pro version 1909. My case is so similar to yours. I tried to install Startup Tool 7.7 HF1 with Windows XP SP3 compatibility on Windows 10 and the installer starts asking for an update of the system, but when I accept it shows a warning that HMI-ServicePack 2 Setup failed. What is the software that tries to update? Because I think the update cannot be done because it's expecting to find a previous version of some HMI software that is not installed previously. NOTE: My intention is to update the machine from an old IPC577C with WinXP SP3 to a newer IPC-PX-39A with windows 10. The original HMI is a customized software with .Net base that was compiled years agoa and it uses the HMI Advanced libraries to communicate with the PLC/CNC. There is no possibility to change the interface program, or the path of the libraries, to be used with Operate Base, or similar. So HMI Advanced is the only way to keep using that HMI Interface. Please contact your local Siemens office and explain the situation as you stated above. They should be able to find someone within Siemens to send the files.

SinuCom NC consistently displays an error message that the HMI path was not found. And in Startup Tool a path “F:” seems to be missing. Does anyone have a solution for this?

-Mark- Member Joined: 2/24/2021 Last visit: 10/29/2025 Posts: 12 Rating: (2)	After much trial and error, I found a solution myself and just wanted to share it: First, install version 7.6 of the INB/Startup Tool. To do this, set every EXE file in every subfolder of the installation directory to compatibility mode with Win XP SP3 (Thanks @cliff.pennalligen) and grant administrator rights. Then install Sinucom NC 7.6 in the same way. Then repeat the same procedure with 7.7.
