Wizard Diamond Member Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 12/24/2025 Posts: 9097 Rating: (1202)	Hello Sasha, You are using the 32di, I think it's 6ES7 321-1BL00-0AA0, in that case it's not possible to react very fast by using a HW interupt It's however possible, when you use 6ES7 321-7BH01-0AB0 ( 16di), here it's possible to parametrize a HW interupt for each channel. Smurf Silver Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 10/24/2024 Posts: 414 Rating: (28)	Hi, Just a few possibilities: - Use a very fast CPU - program at different stages in your program something with PIW and the input word adress and compare the state with the last state. e.g. .. .. compare actual value PIW100 with "OldValue" if equal then goto normal else take special action, because something changed end_if normal: store the actual value as "OldValue" .. .. Note! Always make sure that you do the action "store the actual value as "OldValue"" after the compare.

Wizard Diamond Member Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 12/24/2025 Posts: 9097 Rating: (1202)	Hello Sasha, With the 6ES7 421-1BL00-0AA0 it's also not possible In the S7-400 serie you can choose for the following options: 6ES7 421-7BH01-0AB0 (16di) or 6ES7 421-7DH00-0AB0 (16di) Here you can parametrize an interupt for rising edge or falling edge. I'm asking if there is some other way to react immediatly at change value then HW interupt (not possible) and regular IF in code (I think it's too slow and NOT secure). Those DI are someking of E-stop and that's reason why I need that speed and confidence.

One other idea might be to use a timer OB if that is available in your CPU. Set it at the fastest cycle possible (some can be set at 1 mSec dependig on the CPU) and program as little code in the OB as possible since it runs very often. You should read your inputs using L PIW xxx and mask the required inputs to quickly check if one of the tricky inputs are activated then take action. Best regards, René
