getting time stamped messages of S7-315-2DP in Wincc

Farzad Posts: 43 Rating: (7)	How can I create time stamped messages in a S7-315-2DP and then how can I get this time stamped messages in Wincc. is there any one help me? messages must be create on changing of DIs state from 0 to 1. number of DIs are about 700. is it possilbe?

Check out this FAQ: "Chronological messaging in STEP 7 V5.2 and higher" It says "Chronological messaging means that the messages are sent from the PLC to the WinCC station. These messages then have a time stamp from the PLC."

Farzad Posts: 43 Rating: (7)	Dear Chris, I have about 700 input signal and i want to send about 600 input signls with time stamp to Wincc . but I read in Entry ID: 841294 that CPU315-2DP can have max. 40 Alarm-S blocks active at the same time. is there any other way? I read in other Internet forum that we can define a DB in CPU and get any change of Digital Inputs State and write it time of occurance in DB and Wincc read this DB and update it's alarm logging table . now i don't know thatitis possible or not! Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (172)	Hello Farzad, using alarm-SFC/blocks is a quite comfortable way for the engineering. Of course you can create alarms in WinCC without using these blocks. Your variables in your S7-CPU/datablock then must have a structure as described in chapter 8.3.4: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/15342782/0/en In the WinCC tag management you then create the tags which are connected to your S7-datablock resp. create alarms in WinCC http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/17356933/0/en Good luck, nemo

I read your references but this document describe alarm messaging in Wincc.in thismethod Wincc get messages without time stamp from PLC. but I want a method that PLC insert time stamp for change of DIs state then Wincc get this time stamped messages. Mr. Chris said to me aboutALARM_S (SFC17,18) in previous posted message but I have about 700 DIs.

Reuben Posts: 70 Rating: (14)	Hi I was recently involved in a project handling electrical switching signals that needed to be logged accurately. That setup used MCP card in S7-400 that timestamped all the digital signals (hardware timestamping) and some code buffered the SOE (sequence of event) data into a DB which was then extracted from the PLC as binary data. Youcould do something similar in the S7-300 with lots of code but this will only be as accurate as your CPU clock cycle time (eg: several milliseconds). The ALARM_S/8/8P blocks perform better on the 400 than the 300, but if you have 700 signals and the accuracy you require is higher than the CPU cycle time then you may need different hardware. Reuben
