MM440 to PC

Hello,

The siemens don't support 6se6400-1pc00-0aa0 PC/Converter Mounting Kit. For me need connect MM440 with PC and make parameter backup with starter program. Maybe you know how I can connect to MM440 and make backup? 

I would have preferred to send a ppt file, but unable to at this time.

So, here goes:

All in words I am afraid:

Connect the PC adaptor to the drive, and serial port in the PC.

Click STARTER icon

In ‘introduction’, select ‘Find Drive Units Online’.

In‘Create new project’,

put in a project name.

select, Next

PG/PC – Set interface,

select ‘access Point’, button.

Select, S7ONLINE (STEP7), radial

Select OK

Select PG/PC, button, the PC will load date a here.

Check the following, in ‘PG/PC Interface’.

1/ Access Point of the application is,S7ONLINE   (STEP7)   PC COM-port (USS).

2/ Properties, interface isCOM1, Baud rate is 9600.

3/ RS485 tab, this must be set to ‘Automatic Mode’.

OK this

OK PC interface page

Now back at,PG/PC – Set interface,

Select ‘Next’

The PC will now look for accessible nodes.

If all is well you will see, Project**, and MICROMASTER _ 440

Select Next

Complete

Select ‘yellow’ connect button at the top of the screen.

Tick MM440

OK

Bottom screen see ‘Online mode’ in yellow.

To the right of the yellow button top of screen select UP arrow.

‘Data will be loaded to PC’ YES………………

When complete select ‘Disconnect from target system’, top of the screen, to the right of the UP arrow.

Select,Project,top left-hand corner of screen.

Select Archive,and drop the file in to a convenient file location.

If you have difficulty making a connection to the drive, start again using the same process, and usually this works.

Do you have the PG/PC connection kit, 6se6400-1pc00-0aa0?

These kits are available on EBay, connection direct to the RS485 port can damage a PC serial port.

No, I don't  have PG/PC connection kit, 6se6400-1pc00-0aa0.  I am trying to find another way to connect to MM440 and made parameter backup. The kit 6se6400-1pc00-0aa0 sell off and the siemens don't support it. I can not buy from ebay.

If I will using MOXA adapter of USB to Serial Converter, RS422/RS485. Is it possible connect direct  to MM440 RS485 port?

I have found this RS232/485 converter in a box of bits.

connect TD(A) to terminal 30

connect TD(B) to terminal 29

And STARTER works fine??
