Hi all, I also have same issue with SF LED on BUSF steady flash CPU and SF LED on, BF2 LED steady flash on IM157. I know the problem is being caused by our Fairbanks 2560 scale that has a Diamond DT7000 I/O card with anybus profibus DP V1 module. This is a new scale and it has never been able to connect to profibus. We had Fairbanks tech out a few times and he stated that the anybus profibus module is set to 115200 baud rate and it can not be changed. I am fairly new to profibus system. 1. how can I find baud rates? 2. Are any of you familar with DT7000 /anybus products? 3. any other suggestions to fix issue would be helpful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello cryptoguy; My first suggestion would be to provide us with a clear screenshot of what you would like us to see, the camera picture you show is unintelligible, blurry and out of focus. My first suggestion would be to contest the findings of that Fairbanls tech team, there are fundamentals of Profibus-DP that they do not understand. Standard Profibus speeds go up to 12 MB (in older models it might be slimited to 1,5 MB), and will vary with the length of the Profibus segments.A bus speed of 115200 baud sound more like a serial translmission speed, for protocols such as Modbus RTU. Both the manuals of the Fairbanks 2560 scale eand the Anybus-S ^rpbus DP-V1 gateway state that they do not operate at 1152900 baud on Profibus, see the screenshot below. https://nicolscales.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/FB2560-Manual.pdf What is confusing in the description you have is the DT7000, which claims to support Profibus, but only mentions Modbus RTU in their Communication I/O gateway manual: "The following notes apply to the native MODBUS interface: The default parameters for the native serial ports are 115200,N,8,1, and can be set through the diagnostics port." http://www.diamondt.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/DT7000_GatewayUsersGuide_Rev2_61.pdf Maybe you can clear at least one issue up on the DT7000: If you can get us the complete part number of the unit installed in the Fairbanks scale, maybe we could see what you actually are able to connect to: "Example: DT7000A1-PB-A: DT7000 with 4 serial channels, 16 sourcing inputs/outputs, Profibus support with 12 analog inputs/outputs (0-10VDC)" From the DT7000 Programmable Gateway I/O webpage, Hope ths helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello cryptoguy; Before we can make any suggestions, we need to know what modules exactly are connected to your Fauirbanks scale, and wat their roles are. The doubt comes from this quote from the DT7000 manual suggested ear;lier: "3.0 Communications The DT7000 provides communications through 4 serial ports. The serial ports can be configured for various functions including Diagnostic port, MODBUS slave, MODBUS master, MODBUS route port, Generic serial driver, or custom protocol. The Anybus CompactCom module provides connectivity to any of the available fieldbus protocols. As a slave I/O device to a PLC or host computer, any of the fieldbus protocols can be used, as supported by the host." As described, the DT7000 acts as a gateway from the scale to Modbus RTU, on a serial connection at 115200 bauds,, and the the Anybus gateway interfaces the registers of the DT7000 to Profibus for connection with your IM 157 (By thre way, could that be a IM 151-7?) .That seems to be a needlessly complex connection structure, with many possible points of failure. For the moment, we will need to presume (I hate that word!) that the scale and the DT7000 are correctly configured, and that the issue is in the Profibus connection with the Anybus gateway. So let us start with the diagnostics of your CPU, to determine why the BF2 LED is active. We therefore need you to provide us with the messages logged in the CPU's diagnostic buffer. Open the buffer, and click on the Save As,, button you will find on that screen. This will generate a text file you can attach to your next reply on the forum. Do not send a camera picture, your first attempt was not useful, and the text file contains more information than is available in the main diagnostic buffer page. When we have that we can start examining what the CPU is complaining about. If you would like to examine the buffer messages, faults linked to Profibus (in the diagnostic buffer) will request OB 86 (remote rack failure), possibly OB 122 (programming error). These are diagnostic OBs that will be called by the operating system of your CPU when it detects specific type of errors in runtime. Let's start with that for the moment. If you are not familiar with S7 PLCs, the following video will show you how to open and use the diagnostic buffer for s7-300 family CPUs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEBlbLrRS1A Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

hello, Here is the diagnostic info you requested. I also replaced the profibus connector on scale side with a new helmholz 700-972-7BB50 with indicating LED's Blue -station transmitting, it is not on. Green-Bus traffic active, it is flashing. Orange-Terminating resistor is switched on. it is on . The scale is the only device on this cable direct from IM 157, it is on the A2 B2 portion of the connector. Would turning on the terminating resistor on this connector do anything? The A1 B1 portion of this connector is going directly to the A1 B1 connector on CPU 312-2 DP. Also the LED 's (OP) (ST) on the profibus DP-V1 anybus module mounted to the DT7000 board are not lit. Im fairly certain problem is DT7000 or anybus module not set up correctly. Fairbanks tech support is not very responsive or useful. The last guy who was out didnt seem very knowledgeable. I came into this problem when i started her about 3 months ago, so its not like urgent. but I would like to resolve it Thanks AttachmentDiagnose.txt (542 Downloads) |
