Hello,

I'm trying to make measuring the speed using one pulse (Inductive sensor) for rotation for a machine main motor in S7-1200 1214C PLC . I already added OB40 (hardware interrupter). And enabled the HSC1. Started programming put the CTRL_HSC_EXT and tried to put some timer for elapse time and edge count, its my first time to do it, I still not able to make it work. Can you please kindly help me making calcspeed using CTRL_HSC_EXT.

As of now I'm still trying to make it work. But I got this unexpected input end at CTRL. As you can see in the attached image. I followed how to add the hscData with a Data type of HSC_Period. I'M checking what was wrong causing unexpected input end. Please kindly help me.

I rechecked it sir. There is a period before and after the hscData. But when I selected it from the Data_Block _1 there is no any period. You can check in the attached photo. As of now I removed these CTRL_HSC_EXT, its data block and OB40(Hardware Interrupter) that I added before. I also disabled the HSC1. I planned to start again once I get some answer how to correctly or properly use this CTRL_HSC_EXT for calculation of speed. What I wanted to do is to calculate the speed of a machine main motor using a one pulse (inductive sensor) to the machine cam. Let's say per minute.

Ok sir. So there must be no period at end of hscData. The TIA project I have in network 1? What I'm thinking right now sir is, can I add a functional block and start there? Is it possible sir?

Why are you not using the application example that Mr Jacek suggested? Our volunteers cannot do better than that, unless you make it clear what of the example is creating difficulty.

 I used what Mr. Jacek suggested. I only added FB. The problem I encountered was the unexpected input end error. Also I have that link you've sent for application, before.

There is a period before and after the hscData. 

When assigning the hscData to the CTRL input the period at the end mustn't be there. 

Following the link provided you can find a TIA project. Could this be your starting point ?
