How many PLC can connect by PROFINET in a single network to be handled by just one unit of IoT 2040 or IoT2050?

I would like to know the same, more or less. I mean, I would like to know how many PLC I can connect by PROFINET in a single network to be handled by just one unit of IoT 2040 or IoT2050. 

I want to know if I can make a PROFINET network of more or less 20 siemens PLC, acces some of their data through a single unit of the simatic IoT 20x0. The purpose of this is to get some data from this 20 PLC pass it to the IoT 20x0 make some dashboard using Node-red, and have access to these dashboard by 2 or 3 person on their PC locally (no cloud solution), or does one IoT 20x0 unit work only for one PLC unit?

Hi,

I have not tested how much devices you can connect via Modbus. I think this depends on how much data you send and in what cycle. 
How much device are you planning to connect?

In general the IOT2040 has two Ethernet ports with 100MBit.
