HMI only integration yes you can use the EtherNet/IP WinCC Driver. I highly recommend using PCS7 OPEN OS if you want to make everything look nice, like the skids are part of the DCS and not separate. It's a great under-utilized add-on we've used on many customer projects with great success. For Rockwell PLC <> PCS7 comms for process control interface there are many routes. My suggestion is to not mess with trying to do Modbus TCP as a neutral protocol which is a pain for both sides and just get a protocol gateway and do the interface as I/O on both systems (PROFINET <> EtherNet/IP). There are many options at many price points and features. (Prosoft, Moxa, HMS/Anybus, RTA, etc.) (unfortunately there is no add-on block(s) like TIA has for the S7-1500 to do EtherNet/IP directly from the AS410) Siemens makes a great protocol gateway too that has additional PCS7 features: SIMATIC PN/MF Coupler https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109781285/ The library is fairly pricey but has a lot of benefits especially if you have H-CPU on the PCS7 side. |
