The first thing you need to know is that you cannot change the color of a gif image. But you can import two images and switch between them. To know that the communication to the PLC is not running, you can use the quality code.

• So maybe the easiest way would be the following:
• Get two images of the same size, one for online, one for offline.
• Put them on top of each other.
• For the upper image, create a dynamization script.
• This script should run cyclically, e.g. every 1 second, and do the following:
  • Read the value of a tag tag from the PLC with readType 1. It does not matter what type of tag it is.
  • After reading, evaluate the quality code of the tag.
  • Depending on this code, set the visibility to true or false.

Its no the same but you could use also a dynamic SVG like this ones:

then you could use a timer in Javascript in the Screen to let the states run.

there are also some other SVGs that comes with Unified or you find some other and use a Graphic list. but ists not as fancy as the animated gif but perhaps also an option
