I need to rename the SIMATIC PC Station on a PCS7 v9.1 system.  See the Red boxes on the attached photo.  From what I have read in the forums, it highly recommends not changing these names once WinCC Explore has been opened.  Will renaming these require a complete new Windows install to reconfigure MS SQL?

  Are there any tips or procedures available to change these names?

Renaming PC Stations is not supported in a PCS 7 enviroment.

Changing the computer name

The computer name can no longer be changed after the installation of PCS 7. If the computer name is nevertheless changed, you must perform a new installation.

Note Note the following: If you want to change the computer name for a bundle PC, perform a new installation with the Restore medium. If you want to change the computer name for a PC you have installed yourself, perform a new installation of Windows.

Unfortunately you have to start over the installation.
