PCS7 v8.1 SP1 OS Client functionality hampered

The plant was earlier working on a domain based architecture and presently the domain is decommissioned. All the PC systems are virtualized (ES, OS Servers, Batch Servers and Clients) such that all odd numbers are grouped in first server and all even numbers are grouped in second server. Presently 2nd physical server is down, rendering redundancy affected. However with the 1st server up and running, the system is functional. We are able to ping each virtualized system in the odd series successfully. The plant was shutdown for almost 10 months and the domain on which these systems were running is presently decommissioned. However due to cache, the users of the domain are still functional. We have access to the odd numbered systems configured on physical server 1. We were able to login to the virtualized systems with the domain user and it was working. We were able to get the OS Server and the AS up and running. While trying to bring the clients to fully functional mode, we are facing issues. The existing project on the client is getting activated and is communicating with the server. However, when we click on the area buttons (which are active and healthy and showing presence of alarms), the screen navigation failed. We tried by using the option Picture selection by measurement point however it failed. Message was, "The screen could not be displayed". Clicked on Picture by name button in the footer and tried to check. however I can only see 3 screens. We had all servers selected against computer. When we selected the server name, we found no pictures at all. We checked the server data, by reassigning it to the client. In the OS section under Server data, under the Standard Server, all the options (viz. Alarms, archives, tags, SSM, Pictures, User Archives and Text Libraries) were assigned with the Server name. Under configure of the server data, the primary server was assigned with the server from the odd series and the secondary server was assigned with the server name from the even series (for odd and even reference please refer the starting section regarding the system architecture). The preferred server was set with the Server from the odd series. We opened OS project editor on the client and checked the preview under Area and found it matching with the runtime on the server. We simply ran OS project editor separately, but with no effect on picture navigation in the client system. Finally we opened the same client in the ES after reassigning OS server. We enabled activate in ES in the project setting of the client and ran the same on the ES, but still it failed. The areas are present but the screen navigation is not happening. However other entities such as alarms and working well. We are able to navigate to the alarm screens. We did all these tasks while keeping the apdiag opened just to be aware of any kind of diagnostics generated during the trails, but the system filed to trap any kind of diagnostic information to display. Finally we created a new folder in the client and shared it. We used the previously present client project folder to check for users and authorizations and enabled it in the new folder. While downloading, we received an error stating that the download to the client failed. While trying to open the project whose download failed on the client it asked to start project locally and few moments later we received a message stating, "The user does not have the rights to perform this action!. Please check the assignment of the current user of the user groups in Windows". Please note that at present we are using the domain user name (which had complete admin rights) which might be probably stored in the cache for logging into all the systems. So the windows login user name and passwords for all the PC systems are uniform. Any kind of help on this issue to move forth is most welcome. Thanks and Regards

After switch from domain to workgroup or back this must be done. PCS 7 read me - Security settings The settings must be applied again if the work environment changes (domain, workgroups). You can open the Security Controller with the menu command.... The name I used for the local user was the same as the domain user's name. The passwords were also managed to remain same. I activated the OS Servers and the clients using local users and found that the graphic navigation problem was resolved. Glad to share the same. However the security controller thing is something new. I haven't tried it yet. Will let you know when I have tried it. Thanks for the replay once again.
