Set your S7-1200 PLC digital input filter to the fastest available time value (while offline).  If it is set to the default filtering (for a digital input), it will be much too slow for an encoder pulse train.

After that, downloading the hardware configuration change will force a PLC stop, so plan accordingly.

After that, your encoder pulse input problem should improve.  Then we can talk about anything else going on that you may need help with.

Hello,

I am working on a project with one sensor and 2 actuators (both set at a certain distance away from sensor, for example Actuator 1 to sensor distance is 300mm and actuator 2 to sensor is 4500mm).

I am unable to track the position of the products which pass from the sensor towards these actuators. I tried using array shift using encoder pulses to shift the array value but due to higher pulses from the encoder, the PLC keeps missing pulses.

I am using a S7-1212 DCDCDC.

Could anyone assist me on this please?
