Hi,

Do you have an Active component in the field (It has it's own power and give 4-20mA)

Then it is a 4-wire component. (just 2 wires are connected to Analog input)

Or do you have a Passive component in the field (It needs power from your analog input card to give you the 4-20mA) 

Then it is a 2-wire component

First of all, you need to know, what component you have in the field.

a. There are 2 wires. Will 2 wires enter HW? (Which pins?)

b. I will select 4 wires from SW.

Is that right?

Let's answer your questions:

1. When you have an Active sensor

a. using Channel 0, you will have to use pin 1 (+ sensor) and pin 5 (- sensor)

b. Select 4-wire in SW, that is correct

and

2. When you have a Passive sensor

a. using Channel 0, you will have to use pin 9 (U v0 ) and pin 13 (+ sensor)

b. Select 2-wire in SW, that is correct

Hi,

If you can measure the mA, when you have not connect it to your Card. (If you measure mA, it is active )

A frequency convertor with a mA output, will be active.
